Our Trip / Adventure to Mongolia 2010

Well - about 2.5 weeks until we depart for Ulaanbataar. Excitement, apprehension, lots of thoughts....

Time to think about packing - both my items and medical equipment we have collected.

Making final arrangements with Boojum Expeditions for our 4 day trip prior to our medical work.

Meeting at John and Gloria's to pack on Friday, 9/24.

Thanks to Krista, who reminded me to get my travel medicine, I now have my typhoid pills and travellers D medicine.
Bridget shared her photos of her trip and helped get me outfitted for clinic.
Picked up some library travel books including junior fiction with great pictures of Mongolia.
Went to Costco to get some trail mix ....

We've received welcomed donations of medical supplies which will help us as the team performs thoracic (lung) surgeries in the Capitol. Getting excited - off to shop on Saturday for items needed for my trip. We meet Friday to pack our medical supplies and discuss our adventure. Pizza and vino at John and Gloria Handy's home. I am thrilled and excited about going to Ulaanbatar. Erden, our Mongolian contact, will be meeting us at the airport. We have a breakfast meeting on Tuesday with one of the team members from the American Consulate. Then off to the countryside for a Mongolian trek. Back on Friday to begin clinic.
